Summary Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Europe-APAC Business Development, the Director, Business Development – Europe will work closely with the entire business development team to drive new business within Europe including lead generation, pipeline management, deal negotiation and key account management. Additionally, the individual will identify and develop strategic business opportunities within pharmaceutical and biotech organizations within the region. The individual will work in close collaboration with the business development team and functional teams to meet an aggressive growth strategy focused on pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The Company has a significant opportunity to further penetrate existing clients, add new clients, and launch new products/services. Responsibilities More specifically, the Director, Business Development – Europe will participate in the following: Expand the Company’s business in new and existing markets within Europe. ‘Hunter’ profile will be essential for success in this role; Leverage the Company’s relationships and reputation within the Translational Medicine and Clinical departments of pharma and biotech organizations. Expanding CellCarta’s reputation with key decision makers to enhance the credibility of our products/services and brand; Work with the Senior Vice President Business & Corporate Development Europe and APAC, to develop monthly, annual, and multi-year sales forecasts and measure results against them; Cultivate relationships with strategic pharma and biotech partners and work together with the business development and management teams to expand sales opportunities within key accounts. Education Possess a relevant degree in a life science subject such as Immunology, Pathology, Genomics etc. PhD or equivalent degree preferred. Main Requirements Minimum 4 years’ proven business development and sales experience within a Contract Research Organization (‘CRO’) or related bioanalytical services company; Have both a high level of credibility interfacing with senior level client representatives with a proven sales track record; Have an excellent understanding of the biologics/drug development process, including an understanding of clinical trial processes as well as the market dynamics driving pharma and biotech organizations; Experience selling clinical biomarker testing solutions (eg. Immune monitoring, genomic testing etc.) as well as an understanding of CDx development is highly desirable; Be able to credibly and effectively communicate with the internal scientific and operational teams to help develop ‘solutions’ that address unique client needs; Be metrics driven with superb organizational skills and be a chronic high achiever; Ambitious, driven and self-motivated personality adaptable to a fast-paced high volume and high velocity sales organization team-centered sales organization; Participate in client meetings, trade shows, and other forums; Possess values of integrity, ambition, achievement, courage and a clear sense of ethics, which will be paramount to the overall skill set of the candidate; Have a strong command of spoken and written English is essential. Working Conditions 100% remote work, although must be located in Europe; Available to travel approximately 50% of their time.
