One of our clients is recruiting a Cape Verdean Creole & English phone interpreter (m/f/x) for a remote role (you have to be based in Portugal.
You would support various institutions (banks, post offices, medical centers, etc.) that are having difficulties in communicating with foreigners living there due to a language barrier. Your job would be to answer requests and translate real-time conversations both ways via phone calls, using a dedicated application.
In each interpreting session, you never know what might unfold. It could involve assisting with a baby’s birth, aiding a 911 operator during an emergency, guiding a young couple through their first home loan application, or supporting someone navigating the complexities of the emigration office. The diversity of scenarios keeps the role dynamic and unpredictable, ensuring each session brings its unique challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful difference.

You are the perfect fit if:
Speaking and writing in English is like breathing to you (level C1 minimum);
Fluent in Cape Verdean Creole
Previous experience in Contact Center;
The job involves shifts between Monday-Sunday, from 01 pm to 02 am, with two days off during the week;
Have availability to take part in training for three weeks;
Demonstrates sensitivity and politeness to limited English speakers of different nationalities, backgrounds, cultures, and educational levels, maintaining a neutral position.
