Job Summary
The Data Architect role will be supporting Canteen, a sector of Compass Group, focused on unattended retail solutions for clients and customers across the US. The role will primarily be focused on providing expertise in designing robust data products and coaching junior engineering talent.
The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, solutioning, and overseeing the implementation of data products, data engineering frameworks, and ensuring efficient management of our data pipelines. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of data engineering principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive complex data projects to completion.
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs
Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of data engineering technologies and tools
Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineering teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed
Ensure data quality and integrity across all data products
Monitor and optimize data systems performance, identify and resolve any issues or bottlenecks
Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and innovation
Manages and elevates other engineers while remaining hands on
Development of long term data platform architecture
Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, security engineers, and architects to achieve the best possibly technical solutions that address our business needs
Thinks critically to troubleshoot data related issues and lead the solutioning of the resolution.
Assist with production issues in data warehouses like reloading data and transformations.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in technical field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, etc.)
Minimum of 7 years experiences in implementing a full-scale data warehouse solution using snowflake
Experience in building and developing data products
Strong experience with AWS data services
Strong experience with snowflake cloud data platform
Extensive experience with programming language
Experience with DBT data transformation framework
