Job Title: Behavioral Health Associate-Remote
Division: Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
Work Arrangement: Remote within Houston, TX
Location: Texas Medical Center, Houston, TX
Salary Range: $56,895 to $78,514
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Summary
The Behavioral Health Associate will provide assessment and therapy services to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral concerns who attend area school districts. Care will be provided virtually while the student is either at home or in school. The Behavioral Health Specialist will provide this care within the context of the state-funded Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium and Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine program.
This position will reside in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences under Dr. Courtney Alvarez, and will provide assessment and therapy services to youth in collaboration with the program providers of Baylor College of Medicine – Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and community partners.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Telehealth Counseling, experience counseling school age children and families, and is bilingual in English/Spanish.
Job Duties
Provides assessment for and treatment of behavioral health problems for children and adolescents in a telehealth format.
Develops treatment plans with patients and families to address mental health problems.
Provides brief therapeutic interventions for mental health problems.
Provides case coordination and care management when indicated.
Consults with psychiatrists and other care team members regarding patient care responsibilities.
Completes required documentation and statistical reporting in a timely manner.
Attends center staff meetings, program and department meetings as required.
Provides educational presentations to school district personnel, parents, and students.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field.
Two years of relevant experience.
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), individuals with LCSW-S, LPC-S may be considered).
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
