Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven SEO Manager to join our team and lead our Shopify SEO initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of increasing organic traffic, improving domain authority, and boosting search engine rankings for E-commerce websites, particularly those built on the Shopify platform.
Tasks
Technical SEO:

Conduct quarterly audits and create reports to show progress.

Identify, understand, and resolve issues related to core web vitalsLCP, FID, CLS.

Optimize site architecture for logical flow.

Optimize directory URL structure, internal product links, breadcrumbs, product tags, blog tags, vendor collections, product type collections, and other default pages.

Set up custom robots.txt files.

Canonicalize or merge product variants.

Implement 301 redirects for deleted products.

Use structured dataProduct, Article, BreadcrumbList, CollectionPage/OfferCatalog structured data.

Create and customize XML sitemaps; submit them to Google Search Console.

Optimize internal product links, URLs with similar content, URLs with duplicate H1s, internal redirected URLs, and broken internal URLs.

Fix issues identified in Google Search Console.

Shopify Store Management:

Manage product listings, inventory, and order processing.

Implement promotions and discounts.

Monitor store performance and make necessary adjustments.

Develop and customize Shopify themes if required.

Perform regular maintenance, updates, and bug fixes.

Monitor and optimize website performance.

Requirements
On-Page SEO:

Optimize and write compelling content for page titles, meta descriptions, URL/handles, H1s, collection descriptions, additional product details, FAQs, and internal links for Shopify collection pages, product pages, and the home page.

Add schema markup.

Create appropriate topical clustering, page hierarchy, and internal linking.

Optimize mega menu navigation, breadcrumb links, and sub-category style links.

Optimize for rich snippets.

Set up, optimize, and create custom events and track website analytics using Google Analytics 4 & Google Tag Manager

Optimize for Local SEO (Google My Business).

Optimize for Google Merchant Center.

Keyword Research & Optimization:

Optimize existing bottom-of-funnel pages.

Determine competitive advantages with keyword gap analysis.

Conduct SERP analysis to determine blog post, collection page, and product page optimization for respective keywords.

Optimize link structure and URLs for keywords.

Create additional collection pages.

Execute internal linking among relevant collection pages.

Conduct differentiated keyword research for the home page, collection pages, product pages, and blog pages.

Create strategies for intent-driven keywords, long-tail keywords, and low-competition keywords.

Content Marketing:

Commit to creating a specified number of blogs depending on the client.

Develop a blogging strategy focusing on content with informational intent and middle-of-funnel keywords.

Create content in topical clusters following E-E-A-T guidelines.

Conduct competitor research and analysis to identify content gaps.

Recommend, optimize, and feature relevant products in informative blogs.

Devise a plan to include images, videos, and other creatives.

Create a plan to delete or update blogs with outdated content and no traffic.

Link Building:

Devise a link-building strategy and determine respective pages to build backlinks to.

Strategize and optimize for DoFollow, NoFollow, anchor text, relevance, domain rating, URL rating, and linked pages.

Add Shopify stores to business directories and create outreach links.

Conduct monthly link-building activitiesguest posts, blogger links, skyscraper, broken link building, and unlinked mentions.

Create systems to avoid spam links.

Client Management:

Provide regular reports and presentations to clients, demonstrating the impact of SEO efforts on their business goals.

Strategize with clients to determine effective marketing tactics.

Upsell additional digital marketing ecommerce solutions to clients.

Manage multiple calls with clients for brainstorming, RFPs, etc.

Business KPIs:

Commit to acquiring a specified number of relevant backlinks each month.

Maintain and grow website traffic within a specified range each month.

Increase domain authority by a specified percentage quarterly.

Rank a specified number of relevant keywords quarterly.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Marketing, Science, or related experience.

6+ years of experience in SEO, with at least 3 years focusing on E-commerce SEO.

Proven track record of improving search rankings and driving organic traffic for Shopify stores.

In-depth knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content strategy.

Strong understanding of Shopify’s platform architecture and SEO capabilities.

Proficiency in using SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, KeywordTool.io, SpyFU, and Screaming Frog.

Experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and Google Looker Studio.

Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic web development concepts.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex SEO concepts to clients and team members.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
