SIT seeks a Custom Program Manager to work with external partners as well as other SIT departments to design
and implement customized study abroad programs worldwide using the World Learning/SIT infrastructure. The
Custom Programs Manager reports to the Senior Director of SIT Custom & Signature Programs and is a member
of the University Relations team. The Custom Program Manager also works in close collaboration with
universities, faculty, and other partner organizations as well as World Learning/SIT colleagues, including academic
directors and local program staff based at learning centers around the world, academic leadership, financial
managers, global operations, and the student health, safety, & well-being team. This position can either be based
in Brattleboro, Vermont on SIT’s main campus or at another approved location. The SIT Custom & Signature
Programs team is highly collaborative yet currently fully remote within the U.S.
Responsibilities
Serve as primary project manager for a portfolio of custom and signature programs from program inception to program completion, including:
Co-designing program itineraries in consultation with external partners and SIT stakeholders
Creating program budgets, in consultation with external partners and SIT stakeholders
Researching, writing, and submitting time-sensitive program proposals to external partners
Overseeing program implementation tasks to ensure program quality, including delivering predeparture services to and participating in planning conversations with external partners, communicating with on-site custom program leaders, and collaborating with SIT colleagues in various departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of essential administrative processes (i.e. enrollment, billing, staffing and compensation, budget management, risk review, and health, safety, and well-being support).
Managing program closure tasks, including program evaluation and financial reporting
Participate in on-going outreach efforts to proactively generate new partnerships, including collaborating with University Relations Managers to maximize engagement with partner schools
Working on a variety of strategic projects aimed at growing and strengthening SIT custom programs offerings, including but not limited to:
Collecting and organizing information on SIT program resources to inform the development of strong custom program proposals
Compiling budget data to ensure accurate and competitive price quotes
Contributing to the development of resources and training for SIT custom program leaders and external partner program leaders
Developing and incorporating best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in SIT custom programs
Assist in the launch of several new business lines, such as SIT First Year, Return to Study Abroad, and Professional Engagement Programs for international education professionals
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or their designee
Requirements
Master’s degree in a related field
3-5 years of experience in international education or other experience in international
project management, program design, proposal writing and budget development
Understanding of experiential education pedagogy and the field of study abroad in a
U.S. context
Experience working in international and/or multicultural settings
Passion for and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and antiracism and to working with people from diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, religious, and
socioeconomic backgrounds
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize
and respond to multiple time-sensitive responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of constituents including faculty,
staff, and students, and with persons of diverse backgrounds and cultures
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams,
OneNote), Salesforce, or other database programs
Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or remotely
Vaccination is strongly recommended for all employees in our U.S. offices except for those receiving medical or religious exemptions. If boosters are subsequently recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) then employees and faculty will be recommended to receive the booster within thirty (30) days of their eligibility.
