Broadridge is growing! We are seeking a first shift Supervisor for Composition to join our growing team. In this role you will oversee and manage a team of typesetters and proofreaders on first shift. You will have knowledge of layout typescript and graphic elements using computer software to produce publication-ready material. Your department will be responsible for the presentation layout of components for documents from initial conversion through preparation of print ready files and perform quality checks and make corrections as required. The supervisor ensures:

The team maintains an elevated level of quality and accuracy

The team follows the defined standard operating procedures, which should be to support accurate execution

The management, improvement, and balance of team skills on the shift to support accurate and timely delivery

The Supervisor of Composition works with the Production Coordinators to definite and support the client estimated times of delivery and reports to the Director of Composition. We are made up of high performing teams across the globe and you will collaborate with multiple teams and departments. This role is considered hybrid, which means you’ll be assigned to a Broadridge office and given the flexibility to work remote.
Responsibilities:
Support accurate and quality delivery

Responsible for ensuring high level of accuracy is maintained delivery of online and print documents as measured by shift error rate.

Follow up/troubleshoot problems, confer with management on out-of-scope items.

Main point of contact with HYD for queries and follow up

Main point of contact with Customer Service/Associates regarding, queries, proofs, concerns, etc.

Work with Production Coordinator to prioritize workflow in NY/PHX/Vendors to meet CS ETAs.

Work with Production Coordinator manage workflow, including ETAs: to NY Team, PHX and vendors (HYD, Ditech, APEX, Data Tracks, etc.)

Work with team to ensure the filing list is up to date with CS.

Work with team to ensure the latest EDGAR/HTML are provided to CS for today’s filings list.

Work with team to ensure team completes test filings and live filings on comp tracker for today’s date for the shift.

Take edits, light conversion, proof requests, edits to submission headers as needed to assist the team.

Management of team

Train in all functional areas of department and train and promote shadowing of team members for skills improvement.

Promote a positive atmosphere and demonstrate excellent work ethic.

Work successfully in a team environment by accepting/giving feedback and collaborating with others.

Manage and evaluate the level and balance of skills on the shift to maintain quality and timely delivery

Mentor and coach associates to improve in their role and maintain level of training

Manage/oversee monthly weekend signup has coverage for all weekends.

Manage yearly reviews and checkpoints with associates.

Manage vacation approvals for shift and manage coverage for other shifts when there are call outs etc.

Review and approve accurate timesheets for CWK and Associates; ensure time is recorded daily and timesheets are submitted consistently on time

Adherence to and improvement of standard operating procedures

Ensure that team takes a job as indicated in SOPs from customer files to conversion, pagination, art placement, revisions, and final output.

Ensure that team as indicated in SOPs use/apply company style, grammar, and read proofreader marks.

Identify needs for updates to SOPs and new SOPs Oversee entire shift.

Ensure associates are logging in on time and staying active in teams.

Weekend work is required
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

At least seven years of typesetting experience at a financial printer

Some experience in a managerial capacity over a team of typesetters

Skills/Competencies: (Indicate any special skills or capabilities that a successful incumbent should be able to demonstrate)

Knowledge and experience with XPP

Knowledge of various documents including but not limited to transactional and compliance

Skill with manipulation of graphics applications such Adobe Illustrator

Print knowledge

Attention to detail

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Confidence in communicating to senior levels of management

Process management

Knowledge of Pitstop is a plus

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities

Compensation:

Salary Range: 85,000 – 102,000 depending on experience. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Annual Bonus: 10%
