Job Summary
The Waste Tracking Coordinator will support the Waste Programs Manager on the adaptation and expansion of Compass Group’s kitchen waste tracking program, Waste Not 2.0. This person will lead the training, launch, and expansion of the waste tracking program for all sectors within Compass Group and will support its ongoing operation and some limited reporting. The Waste Tracking Specialist will be responsible for adapting and maintaining training materials associated with the program, developing a “train-the-trainer” model for launching it throughout the company, and will work with each sector representative to ensure the program works for their business. They will work innovatively to improve upon and grow the program.
Responsibilities:

Serve as the point person for questions and challenges users may have with the waste tracking program.

Address submitted tickets within stated timelines, and work with the Waste Not 2.0

Product Owner to troubleshoot system errors and issues

Support set up of new deployments on the platform, including account set up and mobile technology

Maintain and refresh existing training content and resources. Work with Waste Programs Manager to develop new content as needed

Perform research and think creatively about innovative ways to improve and grow the program. Generate ideas and contribute to Waste Not 2.0 platform updates and improvements planning/prioritization

Collect, organize, and analyze data to communicate the impact of kitchen waste tracking and Compass’s waste sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree required

Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision

Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments

Strong oral and written communication skills, including clearly sharing difficult concepts for a variety of skill levels both in-person and remotely via phone or video conference

Passion for sustainability and food waste reduction

Familiarity with the food service or restaurant industry preferred;

Familiarity and experience with data management and analytics preferred

Additional qualifications:

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports & case studies, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
