The Role
You will join our image processing and data science team to drive the developments of higher level image data products.
This includes the:

Process and analyze high resolution thermal image data from various remote sensing satellite

Applying your expertise in remote sensing to develop thermal based data products (Level 3).

Leveraging remote sensing processing technique to create consistent and high-quality data layer.

Development of correction methods for high quality data layer covering different scales in time and space.

Ensure data quality and create clear documentation

Design and implement processing module

Provide technical expertise and guidance.

Location – Ideally you will be based in Germany or Belgium, our offices are Freiburg, Munich, Berlin or Brussels – this role is offered on a remote basis with some travel for team and project meetings.
About you
Experience and skills we are looking for

PhD or MSc with equivalent research experience related to the field of Satellite Remote Sensing (VNIR/SWIR /MWIR /TIR).

Experience with industry/ESA/EUMESAT remote sensing projects.

Hands-on experience in contributing to remote sensing product creation.

Experience with developing algorithms and handling large data volumes.

Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., NumPy, Scipy, Scikit-learn, Rasterio, xarray).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience in conducting rigorous statistical analysis and validation.

Great English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with calibration/validation methods for remote sensing data.

Publication in satellite remote sensing.

Familiar with modern geospatial data structure like STAC.

Proficiency with Git for version control and collaboration.

Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) for large-scale data processing.

Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
