The role?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Project Engineer (expat) here at EnerMech. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, implementation, and tracking of a specific short-term projects. The main goal of a Snr Project Engineer is to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. To achieve this, Snr Project Engineer must work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients, and must have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas:
Oversee all regional adhoc project work delegating to the local team and ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within defined scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards
Plan and execute projects from start to finish
Develop project plans, including project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans
Lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party contractors and vendors to deliver project deliverables on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Monitor project progress and report regularly to stakeholders, including regular status updates, risk assessments, and issue management
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, and take corrective actions to ensure project success
Ensure that projects are completed in accordance with applicable standards and regulations, and that all project documentation is properly maintained and updated
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, and manage changes to project scope and budget as required
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including project team members, clients, senior management, and other relevant parties, to keep them informed of project progress and status
Ensure that projects are delivered within agreed budget, timeline, and quality standards, and that all project deliverables are properly tested and validated
Manage the overall performance of project teams and individual team members, providing mentorship and coaching as required to support their professional development.
Manage and track project budgets.
Ensure that monthly finance reporting on the projects is completed accurately and on time.
Visit clients to build and develop relationships.
Support in collating information in relation to the development of tenders and bids.
Support Country Manager in the administration and updating of the BFT (Budget Forecasting Tool)
Recognised Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or computer science
Experience in Hydraulics systems and components
Proven experience as a Snr Project Engineer, with a track record of delivering successful projects within budget and timeline constraints
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams
Experience with project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, or other project management frameworks
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and manage project risks and issues
Experience with project planning and budgeting tools, including MS Project, JIRA, or similar tools
Understanding of project management best practices and experience applying them in real-world scenarios
Strong knowledge of project management software and technology, and the ability to use these tools effectively to manage projects and teams.
Preferred:
Project experience in either Cranes or Hydraulics
Extensive experience leading complex projects in the relevant industry
Strong experience managing budgets and resources, and a proven track record of controlling project costs and delivering projects within budget constraints
Strong experience managing cross-functional teams, including remote and virtual teams
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate and manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other relevant parties
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve project risks and issues
