Key Responsibilities:
Runtime Development: Design and implement the core execution environment for blockchain nodes or smart contracts, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.
WASM Integration: Leverage WASM and WASI via wasmtime for runtime environments to execute smart contracts with optimal performance and isolation.
Performance Optimization: Focus on optimizing runtime operations, including memory management, concurrency models, and overall system efficiency in Rust.
Blockchain Core Functions: Develop features related to consensus mechanisms, state management, and transaction processing within blockchain platforms.
Cross-Platform Compatibility: Ensure the runtime can operate across different blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Solana, NEAR, or Substrate, particularly those using Rust.
System Architecture: Contribute to the architectural designs that scale our blockchain solutions, maintaining system integrity and performance under load.
Requirements:
Experience:
4+ years in software development.
3+ years specifically in Rust programming.
Technical Skills:
Expert level proficiency in Rust, with emphasis on memory safety, concurrency, and performance tuning.
Experience in developing runtime environments or similar core system functionalities for blockchain or distributed systems.
WASM Experience:
Relevant experience with WASM, specifically using WASI via wasmtime for runtime execution environments.
Blockchain Knowledge:
Solid understanding of blockchain technology, including consensus algorithms, smart contract execution, and state transition mechanisms.
Familiarity with at least one major blockchain platform where Rust is significantly utilized.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Additional Considerations:
Proven ability to work on complex, high-availability systems with an eye for detail in security and efficiency.
Experience with Rust-based smart contract development or similar low-level system programming.
Capacity to mentor junior developers and lead by example in coding best practices and system design.
