The Senior Revenue Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition by ASC 606 and supporting the month-end close process through the review and reconciliation of revenue and deferred revenue accounts. This role also oversees billing and collection processes and supervises a team of two.
This position is fully remote but candidates must live in Pacific or Mountain time zones. Candidate needs to be out of a Saas or Technology company.
Salary up to $150K
Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee the month-end revenue close process, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition following GAAP. Streamline month-end close processes to shorten close timelines and drive efficiency

Manage billing and collection processes, including invoicing, revenue recognition, and related reporting.

SME for Revenue Accounting for process and sales-related issues related to the Company’s products, pricing, and revenue transactions

Maximize the automation of revenue recognition processes in NetSuite and drive the implementation of a new Revenue Recognition system

Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Customer Success, and Legal) to ensure that all revenue transactions are accounted for under the company’s revenue policy.

Prepare and maintain revenue-related schedules, including deferred revenue, unearned revenue, and billing reconciliations.

Prepare technical revenue accounting memos in compliance with US GAAP for non-standard contracts.

Support ad hoc projects, including systems implementation, acquisitions, and process improvements related to revenue processes

Collaborate with the Controller on special projects and initiatives related to revenue and finance operations.

Skills/Abilities/Experience:

Deep knowledge of ASC 606 compliance and GAAP standards for accurate revenue recognition.

Hands-on experience with NetSuite ARM module and revenue automation tools, with a focus on process optimization.

Ability to prepare and analyze revenue-related schedules, such as deferred revenue and billing reconciliations, with advanced proficiency in Excel.

Strong communication skills to work effectively with Sales, Operations, Legal, and Customer Success teams on revenue-related policies and processes.

Proven ability to manage a team, streamline month-end close processes, and drive efficiency through automation and process improvements.

Minium Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related; CPA a plus

5+ years of accounting experience – ideally a combination of public accounting and revenue accounting in the SaaS / Tech industry

Hands-on experience with NetSuite ARM module is required.

Experience with subscription and usage-based billing is required.

Experience with integration of revenue and billing processes on the acquiring side.

Advanced Excel is required
