Menu Design & Planning: Create imaginative, high-quality menus that meet customer needs.
Stock & Equipment Management: Oversee and secure all equipment, stock, and uniforms under chef’s control.
Food Costing: Have a sound understanding of food costing and financial management.
Team Assistance: Support other units when needed.
Kitchen Control: Maintain complete control over kitchen operations at all times.
Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve issues as they arise.
Staff Management: Maximize kitchen staff productivity and manage the team effectively.
Food Quality & Presentation: Ensure quality culinary dishes with both traditional and modern presentation.
Cost Efficiency & Hygiene Standards: Monitor food production processes, control costs, and maintain high hygiene and HACCP standards.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with Tsebo Group health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment.
Skills and Competencies
High-Quality Work: Ability to produce a high volume of accurate, complete, and quality work on time.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
Financial Acumen: Understanding of food cost, labor efficiencies, and strong business/financial skills.
Tech Proficiency: Computer literate with good organizational and planning skills.
Team Collaboration: Be a production-driven team player, sharing knowledge and providing hands-on training.
Client Relations & Service: Build relationships, maintain open communication, and offer strong client/customer service.
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualifications Culinary Arts or Hotel Management)
Kitchen production knowledge
Minimum 5 years Professional culinary experience essential
Previous experience within a similar environment.
