As our agency grows, we’re seeking a high-end Retoucher to join our remote team on a project basis. If you have extensive experience with advanced photo retouching techniques, compositing, and a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise, this role is for you.
Position Overview:
Are you a detail-oriented professional with advanced skills in product and beauty retouching? We’re looking for a Retoucher who excels in high-end retouching and compositing for beauty, fashion, wellness, and still-life product photography. This role requires expertise in achieving flawless, polished results while maintaining natural aesthetics. Candidates should have experience with premium retouching techniques and be passionate about taking visual storytelling to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
Retouch and enhance product and/or beauty images for brands across multiple industries, ensuring premium quality.
Perform advanced retouching, including but not limited to:
Skin beauty retouching (natural and polished results).
Frequency separation and micro/macro dodge & burn techniques.
Color correction and tonal adjustments.
Eye color enhancement for beauty photography.
Liquify for subtle corrections and symmetry.
Fixing skin tones and addressing inconsistencies.
Cleaning and extending backgrounds seamlessly.
Removing unwanted objects while maintaining image integrity.
Execute compositing techniques, combining multiple images into cohesive and realistic visuals.
Ensure mastery of working with different materials, such as metal, stone, fabric, and wood, to maintain authenticity in product imagery.
Clean and refine images to remove dirt, scratches, and dust while maintaining the natural texture and appearance.
Collaborate with photographers and the creative team to align with project goals and creative direction.
Conduct quality control checks on all images to ensure flawless delivery.
Work non-destructively, maintaining flexibility for edits at any stage of retouching.
Expertise Required:
Proven experience in high-end photo retouching for beauty and/or product photography.

Proficiency in:
Compositing and blending multiple images.
Skin beauty retouching with advanced techniques.
Tools and software:
Capture One Pro
Adobe Photoshop (advanced level).
Adobe Lightroom
Adobe Camera Raw
Dropbox
Advanced techniques:
Frequency separation
Micro and macro dodge & burn
Liquify
Color correction
Background cleanup and extension
Eye color enhancement
Fixing skin tones
Removing unwanted objects
Strong portfolio showcasing advanced retouching and compositing work (applications without portfolios will not be considered).
Ability to understand and work with complex product forms, materials, and textures.
A keen eye for color accuracy, tone, and detail in both product and beauty photography.
Experience creating masks for intricate product shapes and executing clean, professional selections.
Understanding of retouching for different outputs, including e-commerce, marketing campaigns, and social media.
Compensation:
$5-$8/hour (DOE), part-time.
