Role Overview
Our client is seeking an exceptional Head of Trade Finance to lead their financial strategy, develop innovative financial products, and drive their capital raising initiatives. This strategic role is critical to their continued expansion and will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial infrastructure of our growing organization.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CFA designation strongly preferred)

Advanced certification in international trade finance (e.g., CIBS, ACCA) is a significant advantage

Minimum of 5 years in senior financial roles, with specific expertise in any of the following: Investment banking, Private equity, Private credit and International trade finance

Proven track record of: Structuring complex financial products, Successful capital fundraising and Credit risk management

Demonstrated experience in emerging market financial ecosystems

Advanced in financial modeling and risk assessment capabilities

Proficient in financial software and data analytics platforms

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

Ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments

Strong network in banking and investment communities

Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership

Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for trade finance solutions, targeting a minimum of 3 new product innovations annually

Design and execute debt fundraising campaigns to secure working capital, with a goal of raising $50M+ in alternative financing within 18 months

Align trade finance strategies with broader organizational growth objectives

Product Development and Structuring

Create tailored trade finance products, including: Innovative invoice discounting mechanisms, Flexible factoring solutions and Custom re-invoicing frameworks

Structure complex financing agreements that balance client needs with organizational risk tolerance

Develop scalable financial products that can be deployed across multiple market segments

Credit Risk

Establish a robust credit assessment framework with key performance indicators

Conduct comprehensive credit risk analyses using advanced financial modeling techniques

Design and implement credit policies that minimize default risk while maximizing market opportunity

Develop predictive risk assessment models leveraging data analytics and machine learning insights

Capital fundraising

Identify and engage potential investors, including: Private credit funds, Institutional investors and International banking networks

Prepare sophisticated financial documentation, including: Detailed investment prospectuses, Comprehensive financial models and Investor presentation deck

Manage end-to-end investor relations process with transparency and strategic communication

Team and Organizational development

Build and mentor a high-performance trade finance team

Establish professional development programs for finance professionals

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning

Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate trade finance strategies with broader business objectives

Compliance and Market Intelligence

Maintain thorough knowledge of global financial regulations

Ensure strict adherence to local and international compliance standards

Conduct ongoing market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities
