Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Riyadh or Remote, Full Time
NOTE: IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST BE WILLING TO WORK THE KSA WORKING WEEK, WHICH IS FROM SUNDAY – THURSDAY AT TIME ZONE GMT -3.
We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our client’s Cloud Engineering team, based either in Riyadh, KSA or Remote within a suitable time zone.
In this role, you will ensure our clients’ systems remain secure, scalable, and highly available. You will blend software engineering, system architecture design, and operations to support and improve infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to manage enterprise applications, networks, and data stores, all while staying ahead of emerging technologies and best practices.
Responsibilities:

Design, build, support, and scale both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and debugging systems to ensure reliability and performance.

Work as part of the Engineering team, attending stand-ups, sprint planning, and contributing as an SRE team member.

Partner with teams such as Product and Data Science to address infrastructure needs and solve use cases.

Design and implement robust CI/CD workflows, incorporating testing, linting, and dependency management best practices.

Maintain and monitor data stores, including load balancing, scaling, clustering (sharding/replication), and backup/restore strategies.

Install and configure servers and network equipment using IaC tools and techniques.

Automate deployment pipelines to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Practice sustainable incident response, lead root cause analysis, and contribute to blameless postmortems.

Explore and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance or replace components of the current stack.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in a similar role (SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering).

Relevant professional certifications are a plus.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in container runtimes and orchestrators (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle).

Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python or Golang.

Strong experience with Linux servers and Bash scripting.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

Solid understanding of networking concepts.

Experience automating deployment pipelines.

Familiarity with big data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

Knowledge of SQL and database management is an advantage.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
