The Director of Product Marketing, who reports to the Sr. Director of Product Portfolio Marketing for Optum Life Sciences, your mission is to develop and execute on marketing initiatives for our new and existing products, ensuring they stand out in the marketplace. This involves collaborating closely with key business partners and product managers to develop differentiated messaging and materials for product launches, ongoing maintenance, and promotional campaigns.

Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, own and execute go-to-market plans for new products launching into the marketplace and coordinate the execution of the plans with marketing colleagues and business partners
Own and develop playbooks, slides, talking points, collateral pieces, FAQs, videos and other resources for use by sales and others in discussing products with customers
Understand personas, leverage customer insights, and utilize marketing best practices to develop tailored messaging and materials for different audiences to maximize effectiveness
Create strategic content and messaging for communications and touchpoints based on specific customer/business needs, develop copy specific to the medium and audience requirements, and adapt writing style and tone to audience (e.g.,
translating complex concepts into simple language, ensuring cultural relevance and sensitivity)
Drive the ongoing evolution of established products to ensure marketing messaging and materials remains relevant, up-to-date and differentiated over time
Mange end-to-end product marketing for Optum Life Sciences products as well as for Optum cross-enterprise products, including working with marketers, product managers, and business leaders across the broader enterprise
Share your product expertise when collaborating with your marketing colleagues on their initiatives, such as public speaking engagements, digital marketing campaigns, sales presentations, and more
Leverage market and audience insights to drive positioning and messaging for new products
Promote products on-brand, on time, and within budget
Manage approvals for all messaging and materials from multiple reviewers (legal, regulatory, branding, product)
Identify and support ongoing and ad hoc marketing activities

Work independently and own projects from end-to-end
Foster trusting and collaborative relationships with customers, business leaders, stakeholders, SMEs, legal and privacy partners, and marketing colleagues
Collaborate with marketing, sales, business leaders, SMEs, product managers, and other stakeholders to execute product marketing effectively
Engage third party agencies and vendors as needed for marketing efforts, including ensuring timely delivery of high-quality output of marketing materials
Identify and support other ongoing and ad hoc marketing activities as needed as the business evolves and grows over time
Analyze regular metrics and feedback to adapt product marketing efforts for maximum effectiveness
Share marketing updates on a regular basis with marketing leadership, business leadership and key stakeholders to demonstrate the progress and effectiveness of your work

Required Qualifications:
10+ years of marketing experience – health care related experience is a plus
Experience launching products in the marketplace
Experience working in a matrixed, fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proven desire to be empowered to work independently, make decisions and drive area of responsibility towards quality and success
Proven solid personal communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships across a broad range of disciplines, interests, and organizations
Proven ability to model positive, collaborative leadership behaviors that are core to a culture of inclusion and diversity with a focus on developing talent and bringing out the best in people

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
