This communication role is responsible for supporting Optum Insight Communications internal channels and events to further employee engagement across the Optum Insight business. This individual will oversee the weekly editorial calendar, write and edit content, and assist with business-wide storytelling/campaigns.
This position requires a strategic communicator with a generalist background and experience in various communications disciplines to support the organization’s operations and diverse functions.

Primary Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains communications plans in alignment with business needs/priorities
Writes and edits communications content, tailored for appropriate for medium and audience
Publishes/distributes communications as planned
Assists Communication team members with content creation for appropriate internal and external channels
Maintains the editorial calendar and manages content flow
Partners with team to ensure audience filters are accurate
Publishes and manages Optum Insight SharePoint site and oversees the Viva Engage community
Assists with the logistical planning and execution for quarterly town halls

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of communications experience; PR agency background is a plus
Event and project management experience
Attention to detail
Solid writing and editing skills with a proficiency in Associated Press style
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Proven ability to develop and execute on deliverables in communications plans
Demonstrated ability to work well in high-pressure, deadline-centered activities
Proven ability to collaborate across teams and function, with experience working in a matrixed organization
A demonstrated high level of initiative, solid work ethic and the ability to balance multiple assignments
Proven ability to respond well to real-time feedback and pivots to meet evolving expectations/deliverables
Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies
Proven ability to work with different management styles and levels
Proven ability to collaborate and adapt to changing internal dynamics and priorities
Proven team player with ability to develop successful working relationships
Demonstrated creative, energetic, and solutions-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Viva, SharePoint and MS Teams
Knowledge of the healthcare industry
Knowledge of event management
Demonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
