Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Lead and directly engaged on site deployment (installation, commissioning, troubleshooting) starting from deployment strategy until Site acceptance by the Customer

Accountable for EHS and Security on site deployment

Provides input to site project Management / Project Support Manager to prepare time schedule,

identification of technical risk and allocation of resources (staff qualifications / duration of activities)

Provide to Cotonou Project Director, Site project Manager and Project Support Manager a weekly report highlighting progress of work, risks & difficulties, main tasks scheduled for the week after

Manage Customer in assigned area:

– Reporting on progress of work
– Manage weekly progress meetings
– Shutdown requests
-Coordination of prerequisites

Provides technical direction in assigned area

Interfaces with internal and external customers on all technical, and project issues

Coordinate appropriate mentorship, coaching, skill enhancement of deputed resources

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes in ebook and on site

Report or resolve any non-compliance and process in a timely manner

Demonstrate EHS leadership and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the deployment

Takes responsibility to reward and encourage deputed resources to take proactive steps toward all matters related to EHS in the workplace

Routinely observes routines and behaviours of others and provides immediate feedback regarding unsafe

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Telecom and/or Computer Engineering or equivalent

Min. 5 to 10 years technical experience in directly related area

Demonstrated technical competence in assigned area

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English

Ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures

Ability to make formal and informal presentations to technical and nontechnical staff and customers

Ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately and effectively lead assigned staff and team functions

Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications

Ability to prioritize work assignments for self and deputed resources.

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated

Ability to work effectively with other management and groups. Fosters a team environment.

Ability to perform remote people support

Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional integrity.

Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs

Travel to international locations

Specific technical competence:

Strong knowledge on Ucom portfolio (SDH, PDH, PLC, TP, ….)

Strong foundation in IP & L2 switching networks: IP addressing, routing protocols (RIP/OSPF…),VRRP/HSRP, IEEE 802.1Q (VLAN, priority …), RSTP, MSTP

Ability to understand complex IP network solutions by analysing the logical architecture, protocols,protection scheme, QoS & traffic engineering and the hardware needed

Full understanding of wireless networks (Mesh radio, UHF/VHF, 3G/4G)

Experience on configuration, testing and deployment of switches and routers desired: good knowledge on network tests methodologies based on RFC2544, ITU-T Y.1564
