What You’ll Do:
Develop and significantly increase Business Owner Solutions (BOS) sales through prospecting for independent brokers, BGA’s and Principal Financial Network. Implement an onboarding strategy through training and educating advisors on the importance of BOS solutions for their clients and sharing the Principal story. Partner with our Internal and External sales teams to reach territory and regional sales goals.
Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:
Prospect for new advisors and brokers, onboard, train and educate, share industry knowledge, and present concepts that will encourage them to sell BOS solutions with Principal.
Build effective partnerships with the Regional Director, SVP and Internal Wholesalers to identify new advisor relationships.
Provide subject matter expertise to advisors/brokers on BOS.

Bachelor’s degree or eight years of equivalent experience required, and 2+ years of related work experience in financial services, sales, or marketing
CLU, CFP, or ChFC designations preferred
Requires broad understanding of insurance operations, products, and concepts with the ability to apply marketing strategies and systems
Requires strong planning, organizational, problem solving and time management skills with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities
Requires effective verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to develop effective relationships and motivate producer behavior
Travel expectations of up to 4-6 times per calendar year
Licenses necessary for this position include:
Life and Variable Life insurance license with appointment in state of residence
Successful Registration as an Investment Company Products/Variable contracts Limited Representative (FINRA SIE, Series 6 or equivalent and FINRA Series 63 or equivalent)
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $67500 – $121200 / year Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible: Yes Additional Information:
Location
This role can be located remotely. If located within 30 miles of the Des Moines or Charlotte area, it is an office hybrid role that has three designated days in the office and two remote days weekly. For candidates 30 miles outside of Des Moines or Charlotte, it will be a fully remote position.
