Mobile Core Network Engineer

As a Mobile Core Network Engineer…
You will be responsible for daily operations and maintenance of the Mobile Packet Core, ensuring seamless functionality across multiple countries. You will be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation, handling customer deliveries, network implementations, and continuous improvements through automation.
Your work will involve life cycle management of EPC/5G Core network functions, optimizing network performance, and driving automation efforts to improve day-to-day operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to network development and enhancing the efficiency of mobile network services. By leveraging your expertise, you will help shape the future of Telia’s mobile core network, ensuring high-quality connectivity for customers.
Who We’re Looking For…
We are looking for a skilled network engineer with hands-on operational experience in mobile networks and a strong background in automation. You should have a problem-solving mindset, a passion for innovation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-country environment.
You should have a university degree in IT, information systems, network engineering, or a related field, but relevant work experience can compensate. Hands-on experience working with mobile network functions in an operational and development capacity is required, along with a strong understanding of automation and scripting to optimize network operations. Your ability to manage life cycle processes and contribute to network improvements will be essential. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required, as you will be working across different markets and collaborating with teams in an international setting.
In addition to experience with Packet Core and Policy Control functions, knowledge of IP networking, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and cloud-native network functions would be beneficial. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, SaaS principles, and the integration of ML/AI in networking is an advantage. Experience with Telco cloud orchestration tools, Containers-as-a-Service, and developing network services in cloud environments will further strengthen your profile.
