As a Business Analyst Consultant, you will be working with large amounts of data from various sources to provide insights and solutions. You will analyze, review, forecast, and present information to support business operations. Key tasks include understanding customer needs, solving problems, and developing and implementing effective strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform advanced data analytics to identify insights that can be incorporated into strategic recommendations for improving Provider experience

Self-motivated and demonstrates an innate ability to absorb new concepts, technical frameworks, program paradigms while employing them creatively to solve complex analytical problems

Convert data into business value stories and explain the rationale. Provide analytical explanations, interpretations, and recommendations for data results

Clearly communicate complex findings and lead in a manner that fosters collaboration, greater understanding, employee engagement, and commitment to results.

Focus on insights and storytelling. Distillation of compelling and/or actionable insights from data and reporting is required

Deliver high-impact actionable insights to senior leadership and business operations; enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of UHC

Operations, while focusing on provider experience improvement. Work closely with Business Partners to develop and execute on Action Plans

Critical thinker- this position will need to evaluate merits of new and innovative ideas and make sound decisions

Support ad-hoc operations efforts in various capacities. Work effectively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and be detail-oriented

Demonstrate the ability to meet commitments, build consensus, negotiate resolutions, and garner respect from other teams

Support team members via coaching and mentoring experiences

Self-directed and able to work independently

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of analytical experience, analyzing large data sets to identify root cause issues and opportunities

Experience working with cross-functional teams, including business and technology partners

Experience influencing senior leadership to adopt new ideas, projects and / or approaches

Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Visio)

Demonstrate the ability to thrive in dynamic settings, adapt to evolving circumstances, effectively manage change, take initiative, and perform tasks efficiently to meet organizational goals and deadlines

Proven adept at assessing and interpreting customer needs, identifying solutions to non-standard requests, solving complex problems, and conducting analyses with minimal guidance

Proven solid storytelling skills; ability to convey work into a story/presentation highlighting key value

Demonstrate communications skills, including the ability to write clearly, succinctly and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience; organize complex and detailed information into executive level summaries

Proven excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects

Proven analytical thinker, with ability to quickly grasp complex issues and problem solve

Proven solid organizational skills to track requests and deliverables, and meet deadlines

Proven adaptable to work independently and in a group setting to achieve overall departmental goals

Proven dedication to make continuous improvements in all areas of responsibility

Demonstrated presentation skills, to Senior Leadership and large audience

Preferred Qualifications:

3+years of experience in data science

3+years of experience manipulating large datasets

3+ years of expertise in Python and R for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and machine learning

Experiencer using AI in work products

Experience handling terabyte size datasets, diving into data to discover hidden patterns, using data visualization tools (such as Power BI), advanced proficiency in SQL or Power Query

Experience with Machine Learning and/or Predictive Analytics, using Python

Experience applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to structured and unstructured data.

Experience combining analytic methods with advanced data visualizations.

Proven examples of applying analytics and data science to a business context

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
