Our Opportunity
The Country Security Lead is responsible for providing security advice to site management and implementing security measures in
the Belinga project area.
The incumbent will be required to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
including community relations, health and safety, operations, security contractors, and public security.
Key Responsibilities
Advising and supporting the Senior Site Official (SSO) and site managers with regard to all security-related matters
Mentoring the nationally recruited Security Lead
Monitoring security contractor performance
Conducting regular, structured meetings with public security in accordance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and
Human Rights (VPSHR) and coordinating public security support
Preparing security risk assessments and identifying appropriate and cost-effective controls
Monitoring the security situation, identifying trends, and providing advice to personnel
Drafting security plans and procedures in accordance with approved templates
Collaborating with the Health & Safety team to develop and implement the Emergency Management Plan
Coordinating security support for Ivindo activities, including travel to remote locations and VIP visits
Preparing and submitting routine reports in a timely manner
Conducting security surveys of Ivindo facilities
Advising the Incident Controller on responses to security emergencies
Leading the analysis of security incidents and identifying appropriate remedial actions
Providing security briefings and training to Ivindo personnel and operational partners and promoting a positive security culture
Conducting periodic security surveys of Libreville facilities and providing security support and advice to the Libreville office on request
Qualifications and Experience
Security vocational training
Tertiary qualifications in security risk management or a related discipline are highly desirable
At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in security operations in the resources industry or other international organisation, including experience in guard force management
Fluency in French and English, with good written and oral communications skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
Good planning and organising skills: sets goals, identifies priorities, adjusts priorities as required, and uses time efficiently
Able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise documents, including risk assessments, security plans and procedures
