RF Engineer is required by a leading technology consultancy to deliver an RF and Wireless project at a leading financial services organisation. The role requires:
MSc in Mobile Communications or Wireless Communication Systems (Preferred)
Extensive experience of Radio Spectrum Engineering achieved at a leading service provider / mobile operator
Exposure to Open RAN architecture and associated tools
Strong understanding of 4G LTE and 5G NR technologies, including radio interface, modulation, MIMO, and handover algorithms
Knowledge of cellular KPIs (RSRP, SINR, Throughput, etc.)
Familiarity with RF measurement equipment and post-processing tools
Experience with small cell or DAS design
Understanding of Massive MIMO, beamforming, and carrier aggregation
Knowledge of IP backhaul and transmission principles
Experience working with mobile network vendors (e.g. Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei)
Certification (e.g. CCNA, 5G NR Fundamentals, or vendor-specific training)
This is a 6 month outside IR35 contract with scope to renew for c.24 months. Only applicants from within the UK (or with the ability to work in the UK) will be considered.
