Our client is hiring a Remote Video Editor focused on retention-driven storytelling. You’ll work on short-form content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and product campaigns, making sure every cut, hook, and scene serves a purpose. You’ll collaborate with the creative team to bring strategy and performance into your edits, helping our content not just look good, but perform even better.
Responsibilities
Edit short-form social media videos with a strong storytelling and retention focus
Follow strategic creative direction while bringing your own narrative instincts
Cut fast-paced, scroll-stopping content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
Add subtitles, light motion graphics, and strategic visual elements for performance
Review performance data or implement feedback to iterate and improve edits
Deliver multiple variations and hook tests for ads and organic content
Work closely with the creative director and strategist on campaign content
Use our internal b-roll library and occasional stock as needed
Requirements
Expert in DaVinci Resolve or willing to learn.
Proficient in English – must understand audio context and write accurate subtitles
Strong grasp of pacing, retention, storytelling, and visual hierarchy
Experience editing for performance – YouTube Shorts, Reels, TikTok, etc.
Basic motion graphics or willingness to learn (Fusion, After Effects, etc.)
Proficient in color correction and grading, especially with LOG and RAW footage to achieve consistent, cinematic visuals.
Ability to follow strategic feedback and/or understand basic content analytics
Strong communication and team collaboration
Experience with photo editing and retouching (e.g., Lightroom, Photoshop).
Bonus: Experience with fitness, wellness, or lifestyle brands
