Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and community-oriented individual to join our team as a cooperative & Village Savings and Loans Officer. This role involves working closely with rural communities to facilitate the establishment and management of village savings and loans groups, cooperatives development. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial literacy, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for empowering underserved communities.

Responsibilities
Facilitate the formation of Cooperative & village savings and loans groups within rural communities.
Educate community members on the principles of financial management, savings, and lending.
Provide training and ongoing support to group members on record-keeping, loan disbursement, and repayment procedures.
Collaborate with local leaders and organizations to identify potential group members and establish partnerships.
Conduct regular monitoring visits to ensure compliance with group rules and financial transparency.
Assist groups in developing business plans and accessing additional resources for income-generating activities.
Maintain accurate records of group activities, financial transactions, and impact assessments.
Compile reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between the organization and village savings and loans groups, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
What We Offer

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications
HND or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, finance, economics, community development, or related field preferred.
Previous experience working in community development, microfinance, or a related field is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of financial literacy principles and experience working with underserved populations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in local languages spoken in rural communities is a plus.
Ability to work independently in remote, rural areas with limited supervision.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned locations.
