World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding. WBL services its loan portfolio and loan portfolios for third parties, specializing in the management of non-performing loan pools and REO.
WBL is a U.S.-based company with a 100% remote workforce.
This is a remote Contract/Consultant position.
Working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

Position Summary
The Asset Resolution Team Lead (ARTL) is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of distressed short-term, real estate collateralized, commercial loans, whilst also providing mentoring and support to Asset Resolution Analyst(s) (ARA)(s) who are also assigned their own portfolio of distressed loans. Key to ARTL’s role is their complete ownership and understanding of their own portfolio of cases, effective case administration and analysis, and their ability to support ARA’s with day-to-day recovery operations, including providing informative support and guidance, and working effectively with outside counsel to achieve the most optimal resolution for impaired assets.
Core responsibilities include, in collaboration with outside counsel, the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate collection, loss mitigation and recovery strategies, as well as case administration and analysis, and management reporting.
This is a leadership position in a fast-paced, high growth environment; candidates should be adept at working with a large portfolio of assets, be comfortable with taking complete control of those assets and providing instructions to outside counsel and relevant stakeholders, be highly familiar with legal pleadings and proceedings (preferably in the United States), and comfortable with financial analysis (or have prior experience in structured finance).
As a leadership position, candidates should be comfortable with undertaking leadership responsibilities and mentoring junior analysts.
Essential Functions

Manage and monitor a non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loan portfolio

Develop, train and supervise a team of Asset Resolution Analysts

Develop, prepare, update and revise applicable policies and procedures

Conduct proactive and effective pipeline management and financial analysis in accordance with established standards

Develop, implement and monitor appropriate collection, loss mitigation and recovery strategies

Monitor and manage commercial litigation/bankruptcy/foreclosure activities, functions and deadlines, including preparing bidding instructions, drafting settlement agreements and reviewing pleadings

Direct/monitor/liaise with in-house and outside attorneys, collection agencies and other vendors that support the asset resolution effort

Interact with customers and their counsel to facilitate negotiation and conflict resolution

Maintain timely and accurate case management records

Prepare and deliver to management: case (i)summaries, (ii) performance, (iii) status, (iv) outcomes, (v) budgets and (vi) financial reports and forecasts

Collaborate with colleagues in connection with financial reporting, valuations and legal strategies

Other projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent from U.S. college/university preferred)

Paralegal Certificate (or equivalent preferred)

Excellent English fluency, both written and verbal

Strong organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and leadership skills

Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state collection/foreclosure/bankruptcy laws and related legal process

Working knowledge of real property recording systems and real property chain of title matters throughout the U.S. preferred

Strong critical thinking, problem solving, financial analysis and negotiation skills

Able to allocate time to effectively manage personal and team members’ casework and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Detail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skills

Proficient in all Microsoft Office and Adobe applications

Able to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally
