Responsibilities & Context:
Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) is undertaking a nationwide research initiative to explore Bangladesh’s evolving foreign policy priorities in the context of its LDC graduation, shifting regional dynamics, and the country’s growing emphasis on dignity and equity. The project includes desk reviews, field surveys across 24 districts with 5,000 citizens, and a stakeholder mapping exercise. To support this work, BEI will engage interns to assist in data collection, transcription, and basic data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
A. Research Support
Assist in field surveys, FGDs, and KIIs using digital tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK)
Support desk reviews, data entry, and literature scanning
Take detailed notes and transcribe interviews and discussions
B. Data and Analysis
Assist with data cleaning, coding, and entry
Conduct basic analysis in SPSS, STATA, Excel, or R under supervision
Help prepare charts, summaries, and preliminary findings
C. Field & Logistical Coordination
Support logistics for field visits, including communication with local stakeholders
Maintain field documentation and uphold research ethics and data quality standards
Education Requirements:
Master of Development Studies (MDS) in Development Studies
Master of Social Science (MSS) in International Relations
Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science
Master of Social Science (MSS) in Economics
Master of Science (MSc) in Statistics
Experience:
At most 1 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Development Agency, Research Organization

Additional Job Requirements:
Age 22 to 28 years
Master’s (Appeared) in relevant discipline may apply for the internship
Willingness to travel frequently and work in rural/remote areas
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla
Good understanding of research methods, stakeholder engagement, and project documentation
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general digital literacy
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Age preferably under 30 years (may be relaxed for highly qualified candidates)
