Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Registered Manager within the Children’s Residential Service to work full time based in St Helena Island.
The salary for this Registered Manager job is up to £53,800 per annum.
Main duties:

Meet the arising and complex needs of looked after children on St Helena, using your residential childcare management experience, your experience of managing services for Looked After Children, and your experience of the provision of trauma informed services.

Ensure that the service develops in line with needs to a standard recognised elsewhere in the world.

Use your experience in managing a staff team, and mentoring and developing staff, to deliver a child-centred service in conjunction with multi-agency partners.

Deliver training as part of the Safeguarding Board commitment to multi-agency training.

Act as a corporate parent advocate on behalf of looked after children and ensure their individual needs, wishes and voices are integral to the practice within the residential setting.

Help to improve standards of care, practice and intervention to improve the experience of children looked after within this residential setting.

Develop policy priority areas within the residential setting in line with the needs of the service and in line with the directorate strategic plan.

Manage the physical aspects of the residential setting, ensuring that it remains safe and child centred dependent on the needs of the children accommodated.

Ensure that the service delivery promotes the outline care plan from a statutory perspective, providing care and support to manage risk but also promote independence and autonomy in line with the child’s age and developmental needs.

Apply your experience of the provision of respite care for children with and without disabilities and additional needs.

Form part of an on-call rota and manage the risks and responses of the children looked after.

Undertake all people management activities, such as absence management, managing conduct, conflict resolution, conducting appraisals etc, and completing Manager Self Service processes as required.

Provide leadership, management and development to support team members to perform their roles competently and achieve team objectives or targets.

Requirements of this Registered Manager:

UK Qualified Social Worker CQSW or DipSW, Registered Managers Award, Psychology Qualification, Level Four Qualification in Social Care.

Residential Children’s Service Experience at Management Level.

Experience of Managing the Complexities of Children who Have Experienced Trauma in Childhood.

Previous Social Care Experience within Isolated and/or Remote Settings.
