Description
We are seeking a candidate who has the ability to provide organisational and secretarial support to the Partner and Fee-Earners in the Property department; as well as a keen eye for detail and the ability to seamlessly foster/grow/service client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· File opening (including running conflict searches and assisting with client due diligence/compliance) and file closing;
· Word processing (including generating letters, engagement letters, drafting and/or amending documents drafted by fee earners, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, etc.);
· Arranging meetings and other appointments
· Assisting with property transactions including the drafting of all relevant documentation for review by fee earner and to include preparation of completion statements;
· Assisting with a wide variety of Probate, Immigration, Trade Mark and Corporate matters, including drafting documentation for review, as above; arranging payment of annual Government fees for Trade Mark matters;
· Communicating with clients, attorneys, banks, realtors, stratas, the Court, Government agencies/departments/offices/registries, etc.;
· Seamlessly working other Property team members to share ideas and offer support;
· Assisting with business development – retention of existing clients and strategic growth of practice; promoting the Collas Crill brand;
· Catering to wide cross-section of clients, ensuring timelines are met and clients are kept happy;
· Seamlessly working with the Finance team and assisting in the billing and fee recovery process (including generating bills and sending them to clients with appropriate follow-up thereafter in conjunction with supervising fee earner);
· Participating in ongoing training as necessary; and
· Generally providing support and assistance to the Collas Crill team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
Literate with a good standard of written English – with at least 5 subjects passed (CXC, GCSE, IGCSE, AS or AP) which must include English and mathematics;
Computer literate, with good working knowledge of all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Desirable:
Strong legal background enabling the candidate to understand legal, regulatory and compliance issues so as to hit the ground running in a high volume, fast moving practice.
Formal legal (LLB or paralegal) training would be an asset.
Salary will be in the range of US$80,000 – US$110,000 dependent on experience and qualifications, plus benefits.
