About Us
We are a well-established U.S.-based company known for long-term relationships, low attrition, and a deeply loyal team — many of whom have been with us for decades. We are expanding operations to Pune, India, and seeking a Director of India Operations to build and lead our India team from the ground up. The company is not expanding to India to cut costs — this is a personal mission led by our founder to grow in his hometown, with the same high-quality standards and cultural values that define our U.S. headquarters.
Role Overview
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, high-caliber business leader to play a foundational role in establishing and managing our India presence. As the Director of India Operations, you will begin as a hands-on individual contributor, closely collaborating with our U.S. executive team to deeply understand the business, and gradually transition into the senior manager overseeing local hiring, daily operations, internal culture, and scaling the infrastructure.
You’ll wear many hats in the early stages and must be comfortable working in ambiguity, executing strategic directives, and balancing hands-on tactical responsibilities with management oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Phase (Remote – First 6 Months):
Build a deep understanding of the company’s products, culture, and workflows by engaging closely with the U.S. HQ team.
Act as an individual contributor across core business areas (sales ops, marketing support, business processes).
Begin recruiting and interviewing key hires across departments.
Co-develop the India organizational chart and operational playbook alongside U.S. leadership.
Create the foundational culture for the India team, ensuring alignment with U.S. HQ values.
Growth & Onsite Phase (Post-6 Months):
Lead the India office onsite in Pune, acting as the senior operational manager.
Build and scale cross-functional teams, including sales ops, marketing, data engineering, and back-office functions.
Oversee daily operations, performance management, and handle initial HR matters (until a formal HR team is established).
Resolve internal disputes and serve as the primary point of contact for India-based employees.
Ensure strong communication and cultural alignment between U.S. and India teams.
Support company growth by ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with U.S. business development initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications
Proven senior management or director-level experience in operations, general management, or business consulting.
Prior experience managing teams and establishing organizational frameworks (startups or scaling offices).
High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity — especially in cross-border contexts.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong business acumen and data-driven decision-making ability.
Comfortable rolling up sleeves and operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
A long-term mindset with demonstrated resilience and job tenure.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Preferred (But Not Required):
Familiarity with data centers, technology hardware, or GPU-related businesses.
Experience working with U.S.-based executive teams or multinational firms.
Who You Are
Growth-minded and positive — someone who sees problems as opportunities.
Loyal and career-focused — looking for a long-term home, not a stepping stone.
Independent but collaborative — able to execute strategic directives and act tactically.
Culturally aligned with the values of integrity, hard work, and long-term vision.
A strong leader and culture builder — someone who has successfully grown or transformed organizations in the past.
Why Join Us?
This is not just another job — it’s an opportunity to build something lasting, to lead operational strategy from day one, and to grow alongside a values-driven company that’s in it for the long haul. You’ll have a direct line to executive leadership and play a central role in shaping our future in India and beyond.
