To provide expert guidance to employees navigating their educational path in support of their career goals and in line with employer policy guidelines, build client relationships, and contribute to the collective knowledge of the coaching team to provide the best quality service to all clients we serve. The manager, academic coaching will design customized education programs and guide learners through the complicated education research and decision-making process. The advice and assistance should have a particular focus on cutting educational costs and shortening the length of time needed to complete a degree or certificate program, with the needs of each individual learner always remaining the primary focus.
College Coach has been assisting families in achieving their education goals for more than 20 years. Our team, composed of former admissions and financial aid officers, is dedicated to helping every high school student find their best-fit educational path. With a strong service mission, commitment to excellence, and focus on ethical guidance, we work with tens of thousands of families who receive our services for free through their employer-sponsored benefit and hundreds more via our more traditional independent consulting service. In both cases, we interact directly with students and parents over the phone and via video conference.
What you will be doing:
Build on higher education advising experience to work with a diverse group of learners and help them successfully navigate the higher education system and career pathways. Help employees choose educational options and programs that meet both their own and their employer’s needs.
Offer sound advice to employees of our clients, the adult learners themselves, who are facing complicated educational decisions. Responsible for weekly advising appointments to client employees in portfolio. Leverage network of negotiated tuition reductions at accredited colleges and universities to help employers and employees save time and money. Help screen for and assign financial advising sessions and connect learners with other resources.
Create education plans for learners across a variety of industries.
Research and develop expertise and resources on popular choices and industry specific options based on client needs
Provide excellent and satisfying experiences for employees including expert guidance, stellar customer service, timely responses, and well-prepared education plans.
Contribute to internal projects as required, including development or revision of new internal and external curriculum and training materials, social media initiatives, service delivery best practices or other areas of interest.
Collaborate with internal teams to continue to create effective and best in class support of EdAssist participants
What we hope you bring to this role:
5 years of related experience with higher education and adult learning (Admissions, Career Counseling or Academic Advising) is Required
A Bachelor’s Degree or 5 additional years of related experience with higher education and adult learning (Admissions, Career Counseling or Academic Advising) is Required
Master’s Degree is Preferred
Excellent communication and writing skills are a must.
Impeccable organization and time management skills are required.
Ability to navigate student information systems and databases; experience with CRM is a plus
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, with a positive “can-do” attitude and a desire to achieve goals and contribute to the success of a larger team.
Polished presentation and public speaking skills.
A willingness to work evening hours and travel to client sites on short notice, which will occasionally be required.
Experience working with adults either as an academic, career advisor, or in college admissions is a must.
Compensation Range: $50,000 – $58,000 annual salary

Actual compensation offers will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
