We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Finance Team. Although the role is part of our Singapore-based team, it will be based in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the full spectrum of month-end closing activities and day-to-day financial operations. This role demands a commitment to maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes.
Responsibilities:
Financial Operations:
Maintain daily bank balances and payment listings.
Process payments, including vendor invoices, staff claims, and refunds.
Oversee inter-company transactions and ensure accurate allocation of deferred revenue.
Liaise with operational teams on fee collection and reconciliation matters.
Month-end and Year-End Close:
Manage the full set of accounts for multiple Singapore entities, including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet schedules.
Perform monthly variance analysis, highlighting trends and providing recommendations.
Prepare monthly closing schedules for balance sheet items and perform monthly inter-company reconciliations
Assist in reconciling and resolving discrepancies in financial statements
Compliance and Reporting
Prepare GST returns for GST-registered entities and ensure timely submission.
Prepare and submit tax computations and Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) accurately.
Stay updated with changes in Singapore GST and tax regulations, ensuring organisational compliance.
Monitor and ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
Ad-Hoc Projects and Administration
Manage ad-hoc financial projects such as software implementation or process automation.
Provide administrative support as needed, ensuring smooth coordination across teams.
Utilise financial software (e.g., Xero) for daily operations, ensuring accuracy and system integrity.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other consultants (if any) to facilitate smooth financial processes and audits.
Collaborate with regulatory authorities and institutions for compliance-related matters when necessary
Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders to streamline financial processes and enhance organisational efficiency
Requirements:
Degree holder in Accounting or equivalent.
4 to 5 years of accounts and finance working experience
Knowledge of Singapore GST and Tax regulations
Proficient in Excel and Xero
Able to work independently and meet reporting deadlines
Able to communicate effectively
Highly motivated, meticulous and organised
