Company Overview: We are a growing accounting and tax services firm serving clients across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Our client base includes small businesses, retailers, professionals, and service providers. We offer comprehensive accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and advisory services. As we expand, we are looking for dedicated professionals to join our team remotely.
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Executive to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong academic background in accounting and some practical experience. The Accounts Executive will work primarily from home and will be responsible for managing payroll processing, tax filings, and general accounting services for multiple clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for clients, including paycheck preparation, tax withholdings, and payroll tax filings
Assist with sales tax reporting, business license renewals, and annual business reports
Maintain accurate books of accounts (QuickBooks or similar) including accounts receivable/payable, reconciliations, and journal entries
Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns as needed
Communicate with clients regularly to collect information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure timely delivery of accounting services
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and compliance requirements
Work Environment:
Fully remote (must have a reliable internet connection and a professional work setup)
Flexible working hours with client deadline commitments
Education Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Accounting (M.Com or equivalent)
CMA (Inter) or CA (CC) preferred
Experience:
1 to 3 years
Additional Job Requirements:
1-3 years of relevant work experience in accounting, taxation, or payroll services
Familiarity with U.S. payroll and tax compliance is a strong plus
Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Excel, etc.)
Excellent communication and client management skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote environment
