Role Purpose
Reporting to the Head: Corporate Distribution, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing product and pricing functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to both internal and external clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and commercial awareness to support the company’s growth strategy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field (professional actuarial exam progress advantageous).
Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in the financial services sector, preferably within life insurance.
Strong life insurance product knowledge, with exposure to group risk products.
Proven supervisory/leadership experience.
Solid understanding of commercial and market dynamics.
Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Life Insurance (advantageous).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the pricing of group risk products (e.g., GLA, Credit Life, GFS, etc.) by pricing analysts, ensuring alignment with the group risk pricing framework.
Supervise the drafting and review of group risk product policy contracts.
Supervise and mentor pricing analysts, including setting work plans, monitoring performance, conducting quarterly reviews, and identifying training and development needs.
Lead and oversee pricing administration processes, ensuring compliance with procedures, service standards, and regulatory requirements.
Manage the installation of new group risk/corporate schemes, benefit improvement, and periodic rate reviews on corporate policy administration systems.
Conduct claims experience and profitability analysis, recommending pricing adjustments and product enhancements to align with market demands and ensure sustainability.
Handle and resolve escalated internal client queries on retail and corporate products, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
Conduct and report on product market research and competitor analysis to guide product innovation and strategy.
Provide input into the product development process, including concept design, business case preparation, and product approval documentation.
Support the development of product training material and facilitation.
Providing technical input and oversight of the product specific aspects contained in Client Facing Documents e.g. marketing brochures, content for digital platforms etc.
Prepare and present statistical reports to support strategic decision-making.
