Responsibilities & Context
Quality Control and Assurance -45%

Implement quality control protocols for rice fortification to ensure compliance with food safety and fortification standards.

Conduct daily monitoring of milling, fortification, and packaging processes to maintain consistent product quality.

Monitor the production process, ensuring correct blending of fortified kernels and uniformity in fortified rice.

Perform regular sampling and testing to verify micronutrient levels.

Address deviations from quality standards and implement corrective actions promptly.

Ensure compliance with national and international food safety regulations, including HACCP and ISO standards.

Collaborate with plant operators to troubleshoot quality issues and drive process improvements.

Review and approve quality documentation, such as inspection records and certificates of analysis.

Lead investigations into quality-related complaints and oversee corrective actions.

Establish and maintain quality benchmarks and KPIs for continuous monitoring and improvement.

Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with food safety inspections and certifications.

Perform risk assessments to identify potential quality threats and proactively mitigate them.

Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control, ensuring they reflect the latest industry practices and regulations.

Coordinate with suppliers to verify raw materials meet quality specifications.

Provide guidance and training to staff on food safety and quality control procedures.

Data Management and Reporting -20%

Maintain detailed logs of quality control checks, test results, and corrective actions.

Assist in developing a digital database for tracking quality metrics and fortification consistency.

Prepare regular quality control performance reports for submission to management and WFP.

Support the creation of dashboards and data visualization tools to monitor trends.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of quality data following WFP and regulatory standards.

Align quality control data with broader project reports, working closely with the monitoring team.

Build the capacity of local Rohingya volunteers through practical training on quality checks.

Train staff on sampling equipment usage and testing methods.

Organize refresher training programs to keep staff updated on best practices.

Ensure quality control principles are integrated into project monitoring in collaboration with the M&E team.

Mentor junior staff to enhance their expertise in quality assurance.

Coordinate with WFP and stakeholders to align quality training with international standards.

Accountability and Learning -10%

Collect feedback from stakeholders and beneficiaries to drive continuous quality improvement.

Ensure lessons learned from quality control are documented, shared, and applied to future processes.

Promote accountability by integrating feedback mechanisms and participating in audits and evaluations.

Collaborate with the M&E team to incorporate quality assessment findings into program enhancements.

Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and transparent reporting to stakeholders, fostering a culture of improvement.

Other Requirements -10%

Participate and be involved with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, etc.) activities.

Facilitate donor/external visits and ensure that visitor recommendations are addressed.

Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise in safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Continues coordination with the IR communication team providing necessary data and information to promote organizational visibility.

Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor as per program needs and organizational rules.
