Optum Technology – Strategy & Operations is responsible for a variety of Optum Technology level strategic initiatives including workforce strategy, Generative AI strategy, business planning, Tech Forward, learning & development, and others. We enable Optum Technology to meet the needs of its customers, partners and employees by delivering strategic and operational solutions that unlock value.
The Associate Director of Workforce Management is a key role within the Strategy & Operations team of Optum Technology. In this role you will work with partners across Optum Technology and the broader enterprise to facilitate workforce operations aligned with our global strategy. This includes leading, operationalizing, and managing Optum Tech level initiatives such as requisition governance, labor vendor partner inventory, and workforce reporting. In this role you will work closely with leadership, chiefs of staff, Talent Acquisition, People partners, and Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement. You will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement and innovation the workforce management function.

Primary Responsibilities:
Own and execute the Optum Technology Requisition Governance process and deliver associated reporting
Program manage initiatives associated to the Optum Technology global workforce strategy
Maintain the Optum Technology labor vendor partner inventory and associated processes
Business owner of Optum Technology workforce reporting inclusive of dashboards and manual reports
Establish and monitor key performance indicators and metrics for the workforce management function, ensuring compliance, quality, and efficiency
Build and maintain solid relationships, rooted in business and financial acumen, with leaders and business partners, acting as a trusted advisor and partner
Identify and implement best practices, tools, and technologies to optimize the workforce management function, leveraging data and analytics

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in operations, workforce or vendor management, preferably in the health care or technology industry
5+ years of program management experience with experience owning cross-functional, organization-wide initiatives
3+ years of Excel experience within a proven ability to manipulate data sets, extract insights, and prepare reports with the use of formulas and pivot tables
3+ years of experience interacting with and supporting senior leaders, both through verbal and written communications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with labor vendors and enterprise sourcing and procurement partners
Solid knowledge and experience in workforce strategies & planning, talent acquisition, performance management, and vendor management processes and practices
Knowledge of the AI tool landscape and proven ability to apply tooling to improve work product and personal productivity
Understanding of the technology industry, particularly as it relates to staffing and workforce management
Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions and actions
Proven solid collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders, business partners, and vendors
Proven solid customer focus and service orientation, with the ability to deliver high-quality solutions and services to internal and external customers
Proven solid change management and innovation skills, with the ability to drive and support transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
Demonstrated ability to highly effectively manage stakeholder groups, influencing without direct authority, and leading change management initiatives

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
