Cloud Lake Technology is looking for a Backend Developer with .NET and C# experience to support a State government contract that provides comprehensive support to build a dividend application information system to include application development, automation, AI, data management, security, and cloud architecture related tasks. As a Backend Developer, you will focus on creating robust, scalable, and secure backend services and contribute to the development of cutting-edge software applications. The ideal candidate for this role must have the ability to multitask and engage on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to varied requirements across projects. While the developer will work closely with their Project Managers that serve as the primary point of communication with clients, they should be able to understand and respond to each project’s unique needs, ensuring seamless collaboration and high-quality deliverables.
This Remote position requires that you reside in the United States and work on Eastern Standard Time (EST) schedule with the team. Responsibilities:

Designs, develops, and maintains web APIs using .NET/C# and hosted in a cloud infrastructure

Ensures the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

Participates in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members

Ensures compliance with security and data protection policies

Collaborates with Team Leads and Solution Architects on technical designs for application development

Collaborates with cross-functional teams (frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers) to ensure seamless integration

Identifies bottlenecks, bugs, and devises solutions to these problems

Helps maintain code quality, organization, and automation

Conducts unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing

Documents development processes, APIs, and guidelines for client audit

Participates in project related activities that may include but not limited to daily stand ups, jam sessions, sprint planning, etc.

Leverages Azure services (such as Azure EntraID, Azure AI, and Azure Cosmos DB) to build robust and scalable solutions

Works closely with Azure SQL databases, ensuring efficient data storage, indexing, and query optimization

Implements data models that align with business requirements

Stays updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

Qualifications:

Must be a US citizen

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred

4+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, creating web APIs using .NET and C#

Must be able to work standard Eastern Time Zone hours and be in the continental US

Proficiency in microservices architecture and cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, GCP, etc.

Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, and distributed systems

Experience with SQL Server and/or other relational databases

Knowledge of Entity Framework or other ORM frameworks

Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and design using common design patterns such as CQRS

Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms using Azure EntraID

Experienced with troubleshooting functional, performance and security issues

Experience with one of or more of the following will be a plus:

Implementing custom rules engine

Integrating Azure AI services (document intelligence, AI Vision)

Integrating with payment providers such as Authorize.net

Databases: SQL Server, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Entity Framework, LINQ

Cloud Platform: Azure (Azure AD/EntraID, Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure Storage)

CI/CD: Azure DevOps

Testing Tools: xUnit, NUnit, Postman

Project Management: Azure DevOps

Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and thorough technical documentation

Certifications in Azure or related technologies are a plus

Experience working on State Government projects preferred

Ability to multi-task and be creative and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced matrix team environment

Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Demonstrated ability in developing effective professional and interpersonal relationships with peers and colleagues across multiple functional groups and external partners

Ability to balance responsibilities among assigned activities; including the ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, and proven adaptability to varying customer needs

Pay Range: $100,000-$120,000 Benefits: Regular – The company offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and a range of other voluntary benefits.
