Job Description:
We’re seeking a sharp, decisive Backend Developer with an owner mentality who thinks like a founder. This isn’t just a coding role; it’s for someone who sees the big picture, makes quick decisions, and drives results using AI-assisted development as their competitive advantage. We need someone who treats blissio.ai as their own venture, proactively identifies opportunities, solves problems before they’re problems, and leverages AI tools to build and scale our platform with the urgency and vision of a founder.
Key Responsibilities
Own the backend architecture and development roadmap with the decisiveness of a founder
Rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy features using AI tools (Cursor AI, Claude, ChatGPT) as your accelerators
Make sharp, decisive technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and scalability
Identify opportunities for innovation and drive them forward without being asked
Proactively anticipate potential system bottlenecks and address them before they impact users
Take complete ownership of projects from conception to delivery, treating each as if your name is on the door
Challenge conventional approaches when necessary and champion better solutions
Collaborate with team members while maintaining the autonomous drive of a founder
Continually optimize development workflows to maximize output while minimizing wasteful processes
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in backend development with a proven track record of ownership and initiative
Demonstrable expertise using AI coding assistants (Cursor AI, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate development velocity
Sharp technical intuition and ability to make quick, high-quality decisions under pressure
Strong understanding of backend technologies and frameworks (Node.js, Python/Django/Flask, or similar)
Experience with database design and management (SQL and NoSQL)
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Ability to quickly grasp business objectives and translate them into technical solutions
History of taking full ownership of projects or features and driving them to completion
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a bias toward action rather than analysis paralysis
Founder-like mentality that balances short-term execution with long-term vision
Preferred Skills
Experience with digital wellness applications or similar consumer-facing mobile apps
Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and integration points
Experience with real-time communication protocols (WebSockets, )
Background in application monitoring and observability
Understanding of user privacy concerns and related regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
