Position Overview

The Channel Sales Director, Walmart Account, a fully remote position, will own the P&L and lead all sales, promotional and operational activities for the Walmart account. They are responsible for forecasting the business and developing long-term strategies and short-term plans to meet aggressive revenue and profit goals. This Director will build relationships across SimpleTire and within the partner organizations and lead the account team.

This role requires a leader with B2B, 1P & 3P eCommerce experience, understanding of Walmart business and systems and ability to build well developed relationships within the Walmart, omnichannel and eCommerce business. This role requires strong analytical capability and experience leveraging data and analytics to forecast opportunities and build actionable business plans. This leader will be characterized as pragmatic and charismatic; a hands-on player/coach, who collaborates easily, is a direct and clear communicator and has a relentless passion for driving business results.

Reporting to the Channel Sales Director, Walmart Account will be one Sr. Manager, Walmart and three account managers and/or specialists supporting Walmart 1P/3P channels and physical store business.

Job responsibilities:

Plan and direct activities including strategic planning, developing, and implementing sales forecasts, marketing and promotional programs

Provide management oversight to the account management team to drive strategy execution and goal attainment.

Select, develop, and evaluate account management resources to ensure sales goals are met.

Lead strategic planning sessions with the Walmart management teams on a regular basis.

Collaborate with the SimpleTire merchandising, marketing, supply chain and cross channel partners to develop, refine and communicate near and long term strategy.

Identify needed resources for supporting sales strategy and develop a proposed account budget for Senior Management review.

Identify and qualify strategic business opportunities with Walmart at the executive management level.

Keep senior leadership informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.

Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.


Minimum Job Requirements

7+ years experience as a strategic account leader.

A Bachelor’s degree in business or related area or equivalent experience is required. An MBA is preferred.

10++ years of sales management experience, at least 2 years with or in partnership with Walmart and/or Club accounts.

Working knowledge of the Walmart Retail Link system.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

High level executive relationship building and negotiating skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with functional peers across functions including Sales Operations, System Engineering, Services Customer Support, and Product Development.

Experience as a Sales Management with a track record of exceeding sales and profit goals in contiguous, multiple years.

Demonstrated experience working with Sales organizations, support teams and cross functional partners..

Experience with developing sales and resource budgets.

A demonstrated ability to manage professional level employees.

Ability to foster a positive, results oriented work environment.

Ability to work remotely and able and willing to travel up to 25% of the time.


This individual will use their management and technical skills to develop, modify and execute initiatives with Walmart that affect operations and may have a companywide effect.

The scope of responsibility for this person includes implementing strategic policies and establishing and adhering to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements that impact the Walmart business.
