Position Overview
A leading organization in the public transportation sector is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join its Cloud Architecture team. This role involves designing, assessing, and implementing hybrid/multi-cloud solutions to meet evolving business needs. Responsibilities include cloud automation, governance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate on business and technology discussions to assess and design hybrid/multi-cloud architectures and solutions.
Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform.
Develop and implement leading multi-cloud standards, governance, and security policies.
Design cloud solutions aligned with organizational goals for scalability, resiliency, reliability, and security.
Document architectural designs, configurations, and governance policies using tools like Microsoft Visio.
Research and adopt best practices for cloud frameworks, standards, cost management, and security.
Create migration roadmaps for assessing cloud suitability of applications and on-premises systems.
Ensure disaster recovery and backup solutions meet compliance standards (RTO/RPO).
Facilitate discussions and decision-making processes across technical, procurement, and finance teams.
Communicate complex technical concepts in simplified terms to business stakeholders.
Provide problem-solving and troubleshooting support using advanced debugging tools and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
Cloud Platforms: Proficient in Microsoft Azure (4–6 years), AWS (4–6 years), and Oracle Cloud (1–2 years).
Hybrid Systems Knowledge: Expertise in hybrid on-prem/cloud integration (4–6 years).
Cloud Networking, DevOps, and Security: Strong experience in cloud networking and DevOps (4–6 years); foundational knowledge in cloud security (2–3 years).
Cloud FinOps: Basic understanding of cloud financial operations (1–2 years).
IaC Tools: Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar tools.
Documentation Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Visio (2–3 years).
Interoperability: Knowledge of integration between cloud and on-premises systems.
Non-Negotiables
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in cloud architecture, with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing solutions for complex environments.
Location: Local candidates only; must be able to commute to a designated office in New York City for the hybrid schedule.
Work Schedule
Hybrid Remote: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.
