In Afghanistan, AKF works with rural communities in mountainous, remote or resource poor areas to improve quality of life in the areas of natural resource management, market development, governance, education, and health.
Job Description:
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To implement the capacity building program such as trainings, campaigns, meeting, etc at communities and provide technical assistance to community based plat forms and maintain good coordination with targeted communities, government and health facility staff.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To conduct health related training for community volunteer groups such as Religious leaders and community elders, CHWs, FHAG and others and in targeted population
To participate in all capacity building training regarding the health conduct at regional, provincial and national levels.
Conduct awareness session with adoption of MoPH guidance for the communities and conduct trainings on other health related topics such as Reproductive health, nutrition and psycho-social services.
Assist and collaborate with the health team in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the health projects.
To ensure the existence of IEC and equipment for all Religious leaders, CHWs and its usage/utilization by CHWs and community based volunteer groups and members.
Closely monitor the projects implementation in the regions, follow up the activities based on Yearly Plan of Operation (YPO).
Collaboratively work with regional health coordinator and regional health program team to ensure the required reports of health activities are produced properly and in a timely manner.
To develop working relationships with target community elders, health facilities for provision of quality health education and providing support for referrals.
To have good coordination with other stakeholders in the targeted areas for effective implementation of the health project in health program areas and should have close coordination with health facilities.
To play an active role in strengthening the coordination among the AKF, local government and communities.
To participate in coordination meeting arranged at regional levels by the government authorities and other stakeholders if required.
Keep accurate records of all health interventions relevant documents.
Comply with AKF policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
Respect the target communities’ cultures, traditions and customs.
Respect all AKF policies, rules and regulations and practice accordingly.
OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participation in meetings are held at provincial level on regular bases and at national level when requested.
Contribute to data collection and analysis of health issues and provide support for conduct of any assessment.

Job Requirements:
JOB SPECIFICATION
Medical Doctor or experienced Midwife and Nurse having experience of religious leaders trainings.
At least 3 years’ specific experience with working in health-related projects at community level especially with community elders and religious leaders.
Medium computer skill knowledge specifically Excel (for preparing of reports)
Ability to communicate in English, and local languages verbally and in writing.
Must be able to travel to the project sites.
REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES
The candidate must have the ability to work with different people, especially religious leaders and in different working circumstances.
Skill of working in a team and as an individual.

Accountability.
Effective communication and training skills to discuss and negotiate agreements on specific issues with a variety of partners.
Good writing skills to draft the project progress reports and other required documents.
Effective communication skills and self-confidence.
