Responsibilities & Context
Cooperative/Apex body Development -30%
Coordinate in formulating the Cooperative/Apex body development strategy for Apex bodies and Cooperative/Apex body societies under several projects.
Provide support in updating and implementing policies, procedures, and systems for Cooperative/Apex body development and self-help group (SHG) management
Facilitate and monitor pre-Cooperative/Apex body orientation activities in the SHGs and Apex bodies as they develop into Cooperatives/Apex bodies
Assist in the formation and registration of new Cooperative/Apex body societies.
Provide guidance on best practices for Cooperative/Apex body governance, management, and operations.
Support existing Cooperatives/Apex bodies in developing strategic plans and operational frameworks.
Provide technical assistance through formal/ informal training, coaching, exposure, and other possible ways to improve Cooperative/Apex body business and financial management, business/ enterprise development and planning, and business set-up
Coordinate in facilitating multi-stakeholder consultation meetings, workshops, and business to business meetings for better market linkages.
Monitor, support and backstop the Cooperatives/Apex bodies for effective functioning.
Build relationships with external agencies (public and private), and facilitate engagement with similar organizations (unions, federations).
Conduct assessments of Cooperatives/Apex bodies on a regular basis to evaluate their status, by using the Cooperative/Apex body Assessment Tools.
Conduct regular follow up on the project activity, and work progress.
Strengthening Cooperative/Apex body Business -20%
Support Cooperatives/Apex bodies in formulating short- and long-term strategies and business plans and ensure their effective implementation.
Support Cooperatives/Apex bodies to ensure the Cooperative/Apex body-owned business are appropriately linked to the markets and functioning sustainably.
Support leveraged resource mobilization and investment for sustainable growth of Cooperative/Apex body enterprises.
Support Cooperative/Apex body in developing business relationships with financial institutions, banks, and other value chain actors.
Support in providing business development services to Cooperative/Apex body members (finance, inputs, training, market linkages and support services).
Provide support in economic transformation and market system development.
Training and Capacity Building – 30%
Design training content based on Cooperative/Apex body principles, values, norms and business model (Islamic shariah base financial products) and prepare methodology, training material and training manual
Facilitate Cooperatives/Apex bodies in the orientation to have a fuller understanding of co-op principles and values.
Facilitate cross-learning among Cooperatives/Apex bodies and encourage the adaptation of best practices.
Liaise with Cooperatives/Apex bodies for training related activities.
Work on any other training related activities as per immediate needs and priorities, as required.
Prepare training reports, conduct M&E of training, and prepare training database.
Conduct/coordinate Cooperative/Apex body related level training at national/regional/local level.
Provide training to staffs on Cooperative/Apex body principles, values, norms and business model (Islamic shariah base financial products).
Any other tasks assigned by project Manager/Supervisor/Management in relation to projects activities.
Community engagement, Advocacy, communication and reporting – 15%
Prepare and submit regular reports on Cooperative/Apex body activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives to management and stakeholders.
Analyse data related to Cooperative/Apex body operations and present findings to inform decision-making.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Develop and maintain documentation related to Cooperative/Apex body policies, procedures, and best practices.
Create educational materials and resources for Cooperative/Apex body members and potential stakeholders.
Maintain an organized filing system for all Cooperative/Apex body documents, including meeting minutes, financial records, and member communications.
Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between Cooperative/Apex body members, management, and external partners.
Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and meetings to promote Cooperative/Apex body values and operational efficiency.
Develop relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to support Cooperative/Apex body development.
Advocate for Cooperative/Apex body initiatives and represent the Cooperative/Apex body in public forums and community events.
Other Requirements -5%
Participate & involve with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, etc.) activities.
Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on the safeguarding of harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering for establishing a safe working environment
