Position : Cost Accountant – Gaborone
We are looking for a Cost Accountant.

Job Summary

Manage material price changes/variances and inventory control.

Cost manufactured products accurately.

Advise and implement production stock controls to address variances timely.

Assist finance with CSA controls when applicable.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the product costing process for accurate commercial/sales decisions.

Serve as the site SAP Product Costing Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Analyse purchase price variances (PPV) weekly to ease month-end pressure.

Generate period-end plant reports, including PPV, product cost analysis, and usage reports.

Evaluate COGS performance impacts before period-end closure.

Review consumption reports daily to identify and correct variances.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of direct costs and manufacturing overheads (P&L and Balance Sheet).

Manage raw material rebates and related invoicing per vendor contracts.

Oversee material master data management and product creation timelines.

Support plant inventory control operations.

Act as the site corporate governance representative.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Accounting/Financial Management (CIMA/CA preferred).

Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP.

3-5 years of costing/accounting experience in a production environment (preferably FMCG).

Stock control experience in FMCG is essential.
