Job Description
Head of Qatar – Country & Site Manager
Location: Doha, Qatar
Role Summary
As Visa’s most senior representative in Qatar – a digitally advanced, strategic market for CEMEA – the Country Manager will lead the market’s strategic agenda, client and regulatory engagement, and site operations for the cross-functional team. This hybrid role (4 days in-office, 1 day remote) requires a commercially sharp, externally credible, and locally integrated leader who can drive growth, build high-performing teams, and represent Visa with distinction across the ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Strategic Leadership
Define and execute a Qatar-specific strategy aligned with GCC and CEMEA priorities
Represent Visa with regulators (QCB), media, and ecosystem stakeholders
Shape the local payments landscape by identifying growth drivers and removing barriers
Monitor market trends and competitor actions to inform proactive strategies
Client & Ecosystem Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, and processors
Lead commercial negotiations, C-level engagement, and cross-functional deal execution
Drive Visa revenue growth through core products, value-added services, and new payment flows
Develop and execute account plans for key clients, ensuring Visa share growth and retention
Regulatory & Government Affairs
Build and maintain strong relationships with QCB and other regulatory bodies
Support national financial inclusion and digitization agendas
Represent Visa in industry forums and government-led initiatives
Team & Site Leadership
Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing, accountable, and action-oriented team
Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and execution excellence
Ensure operational rigor, compliance, and strong employee experience
Serve as the face of Visa’s Doha office and manage day-to-day operations
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Experience
10+ years in payments, financial services, fintech, or consulting
Proven track record in leading teams and managing senior external relationships
Experience operating in or with GCC markets (Qatar experience preferred)
Demonstrated success in complex, competitive sales and strategic account management
Skills & Mindset
Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and commercial instincts
Proven ability to lead change and challenge the status quo with resilience and vision
Strong public presence and stakeholder engagement capability
Fluent in English: Arabic is a plus
