Remote | U.S.-Headquartered Stealth Startup (with Algeria hub)
Reinventing Supply Chains in Africa
Our partner is a stealth-mode startup headquartered in the U.S., with a strong hub in Algeria and advisors from Europe and the U.S. Our mission: to reinvent how supply chains work, starting in Algeria, scaling across Africa.
They already have a functional product built on a modern tech stack. Now they’re looking for a CTO (Chief Technology Officer) to join as a co-founder, take ownership of the technology, and guide them through the next stage: improving, scaling, and expanding features.
Your Role
As CTO, you won’t be building everything from scratch, but you will:
Take full ownership of the existing codebase and architecture
Ensure performance, scalability, and security as we grow
Oversee new feature development and product iterations
Make key technical and architectural decisions
Mentor developers as we expand the team
Work closely with founders, product, and design to align tech with business goals
Their Tech Stack
Frontend: React Native (Expo), Next.js, Tailwind CSS
Backend: Django, Django REST Framework
Auth: JWT (refresh/access tokens)
Data: PostgreSQL / SQLite
DevOps: GitHub Actions, VPS (Nginx + Gunicorn)
Docs & Testing: Swagger, PEP8, CI pipelines
Requirements:
You might be a fit If you
Have solid experience in both frontend (React Native/Next.js) and backend (Django)
Are confident managing and scaling existing systems
Care about clean architecture, security, and performance
Want to step into a leadership role (not just execution)
