What you will do
Lead and guide the DbOps Team both in prioritization of the backlog and technical approach as well as hiring and supervising
Collaborate and partner with various stakeholders inside of Brightly
Develop and enhance approach toward databases architecture, management, monitoring, and automation with DevOps mindset
Enhances the effectiveness of database tools and services
Develop and implement data security, retention, and integrity policies and procedures
Implement, improve, and track DB SLAs, including RPO and RTO
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes, for efficiency and cost optimization
Enhances the scalability and performance of existing database structures
Guide CD/CI process and approaches aim at updating data and databases
Keep up with the latest technology trends, especially cloud
Report out objectives, work you’re doing, and status to stakeholders and the organization
Performs capacity planning including future storage requirements

$130,000 – $180,000
and the annual incentive target is
15%
of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
What you need
Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience
7 – 10 years of experience supporting SQL Server in an enterprise environment
2 – 3 of managing a team
Strong analytical problem-solving skills including troubleshooting
Experience with most (but not necessarily all):
AWS (Azure a plus)
Strong SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL skills
SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB, Couchbase, RedShift
SentryOne , Datadog, CloudWatch
Jenkins, DACPACs, Redgate tools
Bitbucket, GitHub, SVN
PowerShell, Bash, Python (C# or GO a plus)
Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, SAM
What makes you a Standout
Multi-Cloud experience will be preferred
Experience with SQL Clustering and Availability Groups and database replication
Experience with monitoring and provisioning SQL Server in AWS/Azure
Willing to be on 24×7 on-call rotation and respond to production outages
Ability to automate redundant tasks using scripts, jobs, and other technologies
Strong communication, partnership, teamwork and influencing skills required
Experience with source control, with database engineering background
Advanced analytical organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
