Field Service Engineer I – Omani Nationals Only
We have an opportunity for a Field Service Engineer I – Omani Nationals Only to join us at Honeywell in Oman.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation & Commissioning
Install, configure, and commission Honeywell DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems (Experion PKS, C300, Safety Manager, etc.).
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper functionality.
Provide technical support during site acceptance tests (SAT) and functional tests.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Honeywell process automation systems.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting support for customers.
3. Customer Support & Training
Act as a technical point of contact for customers regarding system performance and optimization.
Provide on-site and remote training to operators and maintenance teams.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure high customer satisfaction.
4. System Upgrades & Enhancements
Support system upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects.
Implement software patches, firmware updates, and security enhancements.
Assist in upgrading legacy systems to newer Honeywell platforms.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and cybersecurity protocols.
Prepare detailed service reports, documentation, and system performance evaluations.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, incidents, and resolutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Engineering (or equivalent).
Honeywell certification (Experion PKS, Safety Manager, etc.) is a plus.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience in industrial automation, process control, or field service engineering.
Hands-on experience with Honeywell DCS, PLC, SCADA, and safety systems.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc.).
Familiarity with control loops, instrumentation, and plant operations.
Technical Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in control system programming, configuration, and HMI design.
Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, firewalls, cybersecurity for industrial systems).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
Preferred Certifications & Additional Skills:
Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power plants.
Honeywell software tools (Experion PKS, ControlEdge, Safety Manager).
Knowledge of functional safety (SIL, IEC 61508/61511).
Understanding of IT/OT integration and cybersecurity best practices.
