About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Financial Advisor / Manager to support us on a part-time, remote, and consulting basis as we build the foundation of our finance and accounts department from the ground up. This is a freelance advisory role suited for an experienced finance professional who understands the nuances of startup environments—especially within the engineering, civil construction, or consulting sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Department Setup:
Design and implement a robust financial and accounting framework.
Develop SOPs, internal controls, and compliance policies aligned with local laws and best practices.
Recommend and implement accounting software/tools for project-based billing, payroll, and cost tracking.
Strategic Financial Planning:
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for business planning.
Guide the founders on capex/opex optimization and cash flow management.
Advise on funding strategy, pricing models, and profitability benchmarks.
Operational Finance Support:
Help structure the chart of accounts and cost centers based on project/department structure.
Define templates and processes for invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and payroll.
Set up initial tax, audit, and statutory compliance roadmap.
Consulting & Advisory:
Provide periodic reviews and recommendations to leadership.
Be available on-demand (remotely) to support finance-related queries and decisions.
