Job Summary
We are seeking a Financial Aid Advisor Assistant to join our team! As a Financial Aid Advisor Assistants , you will be directly involved in assisting both new and existing students to determine their eligibility for financial aid, as well as help them fill out and file the appropriate paperwork. You will also work on maintaining an open line of communication with students and their families, assisting with loan counseling, and providing general guidance to students looking for higher education. The ideal candidate is someone who is proficient with computers and technology, is familiar with the financial aid system, and can multitask effectively. You will work directly with the Financial Aid representative.
Responsibilities
Meet with prospective and current students to review their financial aid status and forms to ensure everything is in order for filing
Scan and input necessary forms from students to process their financial aid and file electronically
Calculate estimated financial aid and assist students in determining final costs and finding gap financial opportunities
Conduct student loan entrance and exit counseling
Qualifications
Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality with students and their information
Deep understanding of the financial aid systems and process, student loans, and the student experience
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with computers, including Microsoft Office suite
Strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask
